Six hours prior to this video being recorded, this first-year medical student—a patient model at the Sydney EGLS Course—had never held an ultrasound probe.
Fast forward to this moment: here he is, scanning himself and successfully obtaining the perfect apical 4-chamber view. Remarkably, he’s doing so while lying down and interpreting the screen upside down—a challenging feat even for more experienced practitioners.
This impressive achievement highlights not only the dedication and curiosity of these extraordinary medical students but also the exceptional skill and commitment of our passionate instructor team. By taking the time to mentor and teach the student models who attend our events, our instructors empower the next generation of clinicians with invaluable skills.
